Privacy Policy

The Muslim Companion is made by Aditya Purwa (Alcyonite). In short, we don't collect any of your data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. What you do in the app stays on your device. This page explains the few things the app does use, and where they go.

Information we collect

None. The app has no server of its own. We never receive your location, your settings, your reading or listening history, your adhkar counts, or anything else you do in the app.

Location

If you allow it, the app uses your location to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction, and to guide your umrah. These calculations happen on your iPhone. Your location is stored only on your device, and on your Apple Watch and widgets so they can show the same times.

Some features use Apple's services, which receive your location under Apple's privacy policy:

• The name of your city or area is looked up with Apple's geocoding service, to show where your prayer times are for.
• In Guided Umrah, maps and directions to your miqat and to Makkah come from Apple Maps.

In Guided Umrah, the app keeps using your location in the background only on the two travel steps: on the way to the miqat, and from the miqat to Makkah. It uses it to remind you as you approach the miqat and to welcome you when you arrive. It stops as soon as you leave those steps. You can also choose your location by hand instead.

Motion

If you allow it, Guided Umrah uses your iPhone's motion sensors to help count your tawaf rounds and sa'i laps. Motion data is processed on your device and is never stored or sent anywhere.

Quran recitation

Recitation audio is streamed and downloaded from EveryAyah (everyayah.com) and the QuranicAudio mirror (quranicaudio.com). Like any website, these servers see your IP address when you play or download a recitation. The app sends them nothing else about you.

Learn

Learn uses Apple Intelligence on your device. The verses you explore and the questions you ask are processed on your iPhone and are not sent to us or to any AI service.

Photos and notifications

If you save a verse image, the app asks to add it to your photo library. It never reads your photos. Prayer and umrah reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device.

Purchases

You buy the app through the App Store. Apple handles payment, and we receive no personal information about you from it.

Children

The app doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
